What to expect in a sauna ritual with Nick T Therapies
A sauna ritual is a multi-sensory experience of hot and cold therapy, and usually lasts around two hours. Nick guides you through four rounds in and out of the sauna, using the elements as inspiration, and with influences from Lithuanian Pirtis & Finnish sauna healing. There is whisking, salt infusions and handmade body scrubs, all helping to create a nourishing and relaxing bathing ritual.

What are whisks?
Whisks are small bundles of leaves, often made from Birch, Oak or Linden. Other tree species can be used, and each has its own benefits for both the mind, body and spirit. Whisks are an integral part of sauna, and help us to connect with Nature, and the Löyly, or steam.
When the whisks are used on the body, they begin to release their nutrients into the skin, help blood-flow and have mood boosting properties.
Handmade body scrubs
Nick makes all his own body scrubs for the sauna, using sea salt or sugar as a base, and combining it with foraged flowers, herbs and plants found on the coastline of Cornwall. Scrubs will vary, depending on the season, and what is beneficial for the time of year. The scrubs are used on the body to cleanse and nourish the skin, removing toxins that are released and clearing away dead skin cells.

What are the benefits of a sauna ritual?
There are numerous benefits to a sauna ritual, and these will vary greatly depending on the intentions and needs of the individual. Nick guides intuitively and from the heart, so each ritual will reflect the needs and energy of the group participants.
People who have experienced one of Nick’s sauna rituals, often feel relaxed & rejuvenated, and enjoy feeling connected to themselves, to others, and to Nature.
